I am a university student at Durham University studying International Relations as I am enthusiastic about issues surrounded global affairs. I studied A Level English Literature which I most certainly enjoyed in particularly studying different contemporary novels on modern day issues.

I am part of the Woman's Association society in university which focuses on various areas such as sports and stem to encourage more women to feel welcome and get involved. I am also a member of the African and Caribbean society which centres around creating a warm and welcoming environment to people of all races. I am proud to be part of a society where we can celebrate the joys of African and Caribbean culture within the university.

I would describe myself as an affable, extroverted and compassionate individual and believe this will come through in my lessons where I ensure the student not only feels confident and comfortable in the work they are doing but also with me as their tutor. My ideal structure for English Literature when revising is planning out multiple questions thoroughly because I believe a good plan sets a strong foundation for a student to write exceptional essays.

With background experience in tutoring, I understand that not everyday is the same and will cater my learning to the needs of the student to ensure they are most satisfied mentally as well as academically.

As a n experienced tutor, my approach would involve assessing student needs and setting clear objectives that I will personalise on a bi-weekly basis. I will include lesson plans that incorporate interactive teaching methods, such as presentations, videos and multimedia resources, to engage students actively. Regular assessments would be conducted to measure progress, and constructive feedback would be provided to help students identify their strengths and areas for improvement. Encouraging a growth mindset and fostering a supportive learning environment would be crucial to encourage learning. By implementing these strategies, I aim to assist students in achieving their goals and enhancing their skills and literary understanding.
