The melodic phrases are predominantly balanced and conjunct. There is additionally melodic ornamentation, such as appoggiaturas (grace notes). There is also some chromatic movement. The harmonic progressions are mostly tonic to dominant, with the first phrase usually ending with an imperfect cadence, the second ending with a perfect cadence. Moreover, there are regular cadence points throughout the work. The instrumentation contains a 'classical' orchestra, with the main melody played in the violins. The woodwind instruments (Flute, Oboe or Bassoon) are used to add colour and variety to the timbre. The use of Horns further typifies this classical ensemble.
