We’ve got some exciting news here at MyTutor. Over the last couple of years we’ve grown faster than ever, bringing life-changing learning to more kids than ever before. And we’ve only just got started. Back in November 2021 we acquired Fire Tech, an online coding and tech training platform for kids, so we can offer a much wider range of brilliant learning opportunities for your child.
As of September 1st 2022, you can no longer book lessons on the Fire Tech site. You can find 1-1 online tuition in a range of subjects and skills on the MyTutor site, and for the moment we won’t be offering the same set of Fire Tech courses.
What is Fire Tech?
Founded in 2013, Fire Tech was the UK’s leading platform for kids’ coding courses and tech education. Some of their most popular courses included Python (a popular coding language), Minecraft Maker (where kids can build their own online worlds) and Game Design using Roblox (leading games-building software). Kids learnt in small groups with expert tutors, mostly after school, on weekends and during school holidays.
Why has MyTutor acquired them?
We’re already the UK’s most trusted online tuition platform, helping teens fill in learning gaps, boost their confidence and get their best grades. By joining forces with Fire Tech, we’ll be offering learning beyond the curriculum, giving kids valuable tech skills that will spark passion for learning – and set them up for life.
In a society where the need for people with coding skills is ever-growing, and in light of a national skills shortage, we’re super excited to be adding this co-curricular learning to the MyTutor family.
