MyTutor for Tutors

An update from MyTutor | One million school lessons, platform updates, and key takeaways from our Pride webinar

With the hectic university semester wrapped up, the summer holidays have finally arrived (our first ‘normal’ one in a while)! We hope you take advantage of a well-deserved break – you’ve earned it. Here’s what’s been happening in the MyTutor world:

Summer School Programmes ☀️

We’re running a bunch of Summer School Programmes throughout July, so you’ll notice more school slots in what’s usually a quiet time of year.

As well as making extra cash during the holidays, you’ll also be helping pupils prepare ahead of the next academic year. Please keep in mind, that these will mainly take place at home rather than at school – but don’t worry, we’ve taken extra precautions to prep them for any tech issues with an ‘at home tech guide’. Keep an eye out for those slots!

What’s new? 🔎

We’re making cancelling school lessons a lot easier – in the next few weeks, you’ll be able to request cover for multiple lessons in the same slot at once, cancel an entire slot from your account, and see how many cover requests you’re allowed to make in each slot.

Our tech team are working on some exciting projects over the summer ahead of the next academic year, so stay tuned 😎

Pride webinar takeaways 🏳️‍🌈

To celebrate Pride month, we hosted a webinar on Inclusivity in the Classroom with guest speaker Mahlon Evans-Sinclair, an educator and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion facilitator. He covered things like useful LGBT resources, how to show your support to the community even if you aren’t directly part of it, and ways to make your students comfortable in the lesson space. Check out the key takeaways here.

We just hit 1 million lessons 🎊

This month we celebrated our one-millionth lesson on the Schools Programme – and we couldn’t have it without you! Since working with schools in 2016, we’ve been able to help hundreds of thousands of pupils across the UK increase their confidence and improve their grades. We’re so grateful for all your hard work helping us reach this huge milestone!

See you next month!

Thanks,

The MyTutor Team
