October has been jam-packed with some exciting new changes. With a new school price band system launched and the publication of an online tutoring book from one of our tutors – it’s been another busy month. Here’s your update:
School pay bands are live 🚀
To reward some of our longest-standing tutors and give you the chance to earn more, we’ve brought in new school pay bands. School tutors can now earn up to £18 for 1-1 lessons, and £30 for 3-1 lessons. The more lessons you deliver as part of a slot, the higher your pay. Read more about it here.
Our Tutor Rep Scheme is underway 🤝
For the 3rd year running, we’re bringing back our tutor rep scheme. The role of a tutor rep is to represent the tutor community to the MyTutor team. You get to play a big part in shaping how the platform works and push for some big changes for tutors. But you don’t need to be a rep to be involved. By sharing your thoughts with your reps and reading the monthly meeting notes, you can still help shape MyTutor. Apply here to become a rep, or read this blog to learn more about the Rep Scheme.
It’s time for your Tutor Impact Report 2022 ✨
As the ‘22/’23 academic year is already underway, we wanted to look back on how you’ve changed students’ lives for the better. We’re happy to announce that we’ve released our 2022 Tutor Impact Report. This is a snapshot of some key milestones our tutors hit in the last academic year, and a celebration of the work you all do daily. Thanks for all you continue to do, it really makes a massive difference.
New lesson space tweaks🔧
As always, our team has been dedicated to improving the lesson space, and your tutoring experience overall. For clearer communication with your students, a new typing indicator and time stamps has been added to the chat function. So now you can follow your students’ engagement that bit better👐
Looking for a new read? 📖
One of our tutors, Molly, has recently published a book called The Online Tutor’s Toolkit. This book covers must-know tips and tricks to effectively tutor online – including how to develop lesson plans and what tech to have. Better yet, the publisher is offering a 20% discount to MyTutor tutors so you can put her advice into action! We want to also say a big well done Molly on such an amazing achievement!
ADHD and tutoring🧡
October wass ADHD Awareness month, and in our latest blog one of our tutors, Isabella, has come up with useful tips on making your lessons ADHD & ADD friendly🙋.
As someone who’s worked closely with young pupils with ADHD, she offers a really great insight into the subject which we’re super happy to share. Have a look now!
Thanks,
The MyTutor team
As always, if you have any questions or feedback, we’d love to hear from you. You can reach us on tutors@mytutor.co.uk or 0203 773 6024.
