About me

I have experience in teaching, am capable of filling knowledge gaps and covering any English and Spanish material up to A Level. I have helped students with exam content and practice papers in these subjects. I also have experience helping non-native English speakers with their language skills, such as pronunciation and grammar. I am happy to compile session notes as well as can provide and mark independent work.

About my sessions

I don’t have one set structure for my lessons as I believe every student learns differently. I talk with the individual about their goals, what they want to focus on in class and how they learn best. I don’t have one set structure for my lessons as I believe every student learns differently. I talk with the individual about their goals, what they want to focus on in class and how they learn best. I work flexibly to incorporate these elements into my classes - teaching them how they want to learn and helping them with content that they find challenging. I measure progress by testing the same skills many times in different contexts (using different resources and texts for example). I evaluate their progress after every lesson so that they know how they’re progressing and feel a sense of improvement and development from our sessions. I think that having a sense of belief and confidence in yourself is essential in learning and so I always encourage this in my classes. I also encourage my students learning by putting the information in a context that interests them as an individual. I aim for my students to enjoy learning and want to learn in my sessions. Learning should not be a chore, and it isn’t if you make it fun as well as productive.

Alicia was the most amazing tutor and with her guidance my daughter achieved the A* she required. nothing was too much trouble for Alicia. She even worked late the night before my daughter's exam, marking practise papers for her. A true professional. Thank you Alicia. I shall recommend you to all my friends.

Alicia was a wonderful support to Archie running up to his exams, could really relate to him and show him the patience he needed to give him the confidence to engage with lessons completely.
