Hi, I'm Anjali! I'm a Geography graduate from Royal Holloway University of London. Hi, I'm Anjali! I'm a Geography graduate from Royal Holloway University of London. Geography is the subject I specialise in and it has always interested me because of the variety of disciplines it encompasses from biological sciences to economics to social sciences, history and art. Geography always has relevance to the wider world which makes it such an exciting subject to study. Aside from my studies, I enjoy travelling, music, cooking and learning new skills. As a tutor, I am patient, supportive, friendly and encouraging and I want to help my students gain confidence and excel in their subject. I believe that every student has the ability to succeed and achieve the grades they want when taught and supported in an effective way. I hope to share my passion for Geography with students so they can enjoy the subject and drive themselves to achieve the best grades.
I also enjoy tutoring in other subjects such as the sciences, English and Sociology all at different levels.
My lessons can be summed up as helpful, encouraging, and productive but also relaxed to ensure they are not like strict school lessons. The structure of my lessons depends on what the student is struggling with. Usually, I will outline the objectives of the lesson, go over the content that the student needs support with and follow up with a related exam question. We will plan this together and the student can answer this for homework and revision. At the end of the lesson, we will discuss how...
At the end of the lesson, we will discuss how the lesson went, anything we need to cover again and what we want to cover next week.
As well as supporting my students with learning content and revising, I help my students achieve their desired grades by practising and planning past paper questions. I believe that past paper practice is the best way to understand the exam, the style of questions and the ways in which you should answer these questions to gain full marks. Marking and assessing these exam questions during lessons and for homework helps me measure progress alongside short tests/quizzes during lessons.
As a tutor, I'm supportive, friendly, positive, encouraging and a good listener. For me, this approach to tutoring and lessons encourages learning, confidence and a desire to succeed! It is not only important for me to help my students succeed in achieving their desired grades, but I also want to enhance their confidence and ensure they enjoy Geography as a subject.
