About me

Hi, I'm Emily and I tutor mainly GCSE/KS3 maths.

I have always enjoyed the science subjects, and having built on this throughout school, I have been able to pursue my ambition of studying medicine at university.

I have always enjoyed the science subjects, and having built on this throughout school, I have been able to pursue my ambition of studying medicine at university.

I have had tutoring myself for exams and I know how much of a positive impact it can have by going over content perhaps misunderstood in class, tackling tricky questions and consolidating other parts. My ability in the subject improved dramatically over the course of my tutoring sessions, giving me much greater confidence when it came to taking the exam. This is something I would like to be able to replicate for other students when receiving tutoring.

About my sessions

I usually follow a similar structure for each lesson, so students know what to expect and that they can get the most out of each lesson. After a starter problem to warm up, we will move onto the main topic focus (eg trigonometric functions), and will work on some examples and explanations before working through past exam questions. At the end of the session, I usually check the pupils understanding of what we have gone over in the lesson, and ask if they have any questions. I will also summar...
